Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and we are inviting students enrolled in Grades 5 and 10 to learn more about the region we call home by becoming Chair for a Day.
Who: Students enrolled in Grade 5 and students who have taken, or are currently enrolled in, Grade 10 Civics and Careers classes. Students must live in Durham Region and have written consent from a parent or legal guardian to enter.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region residents are invited to celebrate the Region’s 50th anniversary by attending our free, in-person family fun events on Saturday, June 15.
When: Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain or shine).
Where: Doors Open will be taking place at the following Regional sites:

Region of Durham maintains Triple A credit rating from Moody’s

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham’s longstanding Triple A credit rating has been reaffirmed with Moody’s Investors Service (Moody’s). This rating places Durham among only eight other Canadian municipalities with this recognition from Moody’s.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Hopkins Street (Regional Road 36) in the Town of Whitby.
When: May 20 to June 28. Daytime only. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
